About Our Founder

Hi, I’m Monika Schuchmann, founder of the PRAYERS MATTER MOVEMENT.  God placed this movement on my heart to awaken people around the world, to remind them that prayer is NOT a last resort, it’s our first response. Now, more than ever, we must return to the foundation of prayer. 

Twenty-five years ago, as I sat in my big, comfy, red chair

Praying and seeking the Lord, I heard Him whisper, “I’m going to use you

as My vessel to send a message of hope.”

I didn’t fully understand what He meant then, but now I know. His

prophetic word is coming into fruition. The Prayers Matter® Movement is

being birthed from humble beginnings in the city of Detroit, MI.

Monika is a force of nature—compassionate, resilient, and fiercely devoted to

making a difference. With over 25 years in the beauty industry as a licensed

esthetician, nail tech, and body worker, she has touched thousands of lives

not only through her hands but through her heart. Monika has poured her

life into serving others—as an author, a Christian chaplain, ordained minister,

wedding officiant, domestic abuse coach, motivational speaker, and

community advocate.

Her journey of service is as diverse as it is impactful. Monika has produced

children’s skits, coordinated prayer vigils and conferences, and served on

school and church boards. She has spent countless hours volunteering on

crisis hotlines, supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and even driving

school buses for special needs children. She’s stood on the frontlines as

a disaster crisis responder and supported the homeless and children in crisis.

Through it all, Monika has carried one mission: to remind the world that

prayer changes everything. That mission became global when she founded

Prayers Matter®, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Prayers Matter® is now trademarked

in 100 countries. She also launched Prayers Matter® Apparel, LLC, weaving

faith into fashion with a message that is both bold and healing.
